News Alert: Adam Telle Confirmed as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works
Aug. 4, 2025
On Saturday, August 2, the U.S. Senate confirmed Adam Telle to serve as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works (ASACW) by a vote of 72 to 22. Telle was nominated by President Trump in March and advanced through hearings in both the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Environment and Public Works Committee in May.
Mr. Telle brings more than two decades of public service in the U.S. Senate, having held senior roles under Senator Richard Shelby and later under Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi, where he served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. He also served as the chief staff member for the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Homeland Security Subcommittee, managing a $70 billion portfolio across 20 agencies. From 2019 to 2021, Telle led the Senate team at the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, where he played a pivotal role in national security and appropriations efforts, including advancing the Abraham Accords and helping establish the U.S. Space Force.
A native of Northport, Alabama, and a magna cum laude graduate in computer science and communications from Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering, Telle brings a deep understanding of the communities that depend on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control, infrastructure resilience, and disaster recovery.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Adam Telle on his confirmation. We look forward to working with him as he leads the Civil Works mission of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His legislative experience and insight into national security and infrastructure challenges make him well suited to guide the future of our nation’s waterways and water resources.
