FEMA has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to update its floodplain management regulations to implement Executive Order 13690 and the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard. The proposed rule would update FEMA’s regulations at 44 CFR part 9, Floodplain Management and Protection of Wetlands.
In addition, FEMA is soliciting comments on its proposed guidance for implementing the FFRMS, and has issued a notice of data availability in support of the proposed rule. Comments are due on October 21st.
