HOUSE UNVEILS DRAFT TEXT FOR WRDA 2022—T&I TO MARK UP TOMORROW
The U.S. House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (T&I) released draft text for their 2022 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA 2022). The 197-page bill offers a framework for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) studies, projects, modifications and policy changes on a biennial basis. The House WRDA measure has simliar (but not identical) language to the Senate bill on the “Shoreline Health Oversight, Restoration, Resilience and Enhancement (SHORRE) Act,” which heightens the focus on shoreline and riverbank protection. NWC is currently analyzing the bill. The T&I Committee will mark up the bill tomorrow, May 18 at 10am ET.
